Communications Officer CLDC is recruiting for a Communications Officer to coordinate, deliver and improve internal and external communications across the organisation and Co.

COMMUNICATIONS OFFICERROLE DESCRIPTIONJob Title: Communications OfficerNumber of Hours: 21 hours per week.
This may include some early morning, evening or weekend work.Contract Type: Initial two-year contract.
Continuation subject to funding.Role Description:The role objective is to coordinate, deliver and improve internal and external communications across the organisation.
Building on CLDC's existing Communications Strategy, the Communications Officer will work to enhance company-wide communications, building a strong, cohesive and recognisable brand identity across all CLDC programmes, and increasing public, stakeholder and funder awareness of the activities and impact of CLDC.Reporting to the CEO, the Communications Officer will work with managers, coordinators and staff across all programmes to increase external communications output, build brand recognition, strengthen CLDC's voice and build staff capacity for communications.Tasks & Aims of Role:•Increase CLDC brand recognition across public and target audiences•Create and promote content on the work of CLDC for public distribution specifically through social media platforms•Manage and coordinate website, digital media and monthly newsletter content and dissemination•Handle media enquiries and generate positive press coverage•Build awareness and engagement across target audiences – especially young people•Support the organisation to develop and deliver more advocacy-focused communications (i.e. educate and build awareness in the public about issues faced by the communities and target groups we work with)•Improve on internal lines and systems of communication•Coordinate social media schedule and develop/solicit content from staff•Work with internal graphic designer to develop visual comms content•Develop and deliver well-executed and effective communications campaigns•Build internal staff capacity to contribute to external communications; help communications to become an integrated element of staff workflow•Encourage and support collaboration and information-sharing across CLDC programmes Person Specification:•Qualification in communications/PR/marketing or relevant discipline•Experience in using social media platforms•Ability to create and manage content for social media and website•Experience in writing/creating content for traditional, print and digital media for a range of audiences•Excellent communications and organisation skills with good attention to detail and experience of handling multi-channel communications campaigns•Excellent written and verbal communication skills•Ability to self-organise and direct•Experience in working, collaborating and communicating with teams of people•Strong administration and IT skills•Ability to meet deadlines•Full driver's licence and access to a carDesirable:•Experience of working in the voluntary and community sector•Familiarity with graphic design•Familiarity with current local and national media outlets and/or contacts
