We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Communications Manager to lead our EY Ireland communications team and execute our communications strategy.
Position Overview: The Senior Communications Manager will be responsible for the operational leadership of the EY Ireland communications team. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong background in corporate communications, internal communications and media relations. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, an innovative leader, and a trusted advisor to senior leadership, reporting directly to the Director of Communications.
Responsibilities
* Operational Leadership: Lead the execution of internal and external communications initiatives. Act as the operational lead for the communications team, ensuring alignment with the firm’s strategic objectives.
* Strategic Initiatives: Oversee execution of communications with regard to key strategic programmes in areas such as talent, real estate, client experience, go to market, etc.
* Content Management: Manage the content pipeline, ensuring consistency and quality across all communications outputs. Oversee the development of key messaging, press releases, and internal communications materials.
* Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure effective communication strategies are implemented. Build and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
* Team Management: Provide line management and mentorship to the communications team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Ensure team members are equipped with the necessary tools and resources to succeed.
* Reporting and Measurement: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communication strategies and initiatives. Utilise data to drive continuous improvement in communication practices.
* Crisis Communications: Support the Director of Communications in crisis management and reputational risk oversight. Assist in the oversight of crisis communication plans and protocols.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
* 7+ years of experience in corporate communications, with a proven track record of managing communications teams in a complex, fast-paced environment.
* Strong understanding of internal communications, media relations, and ideally public affairs.
* Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
* Proven ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of the organisation, particularly with senior leadership.
* Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively, with a results-oriented mindset.
* Experience in crisis communications and reputation management is highly desirable.
* Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
