Commercial Manager
Location: Dublin, Ireland (4 days in Office)
An established international engineering and construction contractor is seeking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to support the commercial delivery of large-scale projects across Ireland.
This is a senior role with responsibility for overseeing all commercial, contractual, and financial aspects of projects from pre-contract through to final account.
Overview of Duties
· Full commercial responsibility for one or more major projects
· Management of project budgets, cost forecasts, and cash flow
· Preparation, submission, and agreement of interim valuations
· Management of variations, change control, and commercial risk
· Preparation and negotiation of final accounts with clients and subcontractors
· Review and administration of contracts and subcontracts
· Procurement strategy development and subcontractor appointment
· Commercial reporting to senior management, including KPIs and cost analysis
· Identification and mitigation of commercial and contractual risks
· Support project teams with contractual advice and cost control
· Management and development of commercial staff as required
· Liaison with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners
· Ensure compliance with internal governance and commercial procedures
Key Requirements
· Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
· Significant post-graduate experience in a commercial management role within construction or engineering
· Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract and subcontract administration
· Proven experience managing large-scale or complex projects
· Excellent commercial acumen and financial awareness
· Strong negotiation and communication skills
· Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
· High level of proficiency in commercial reporting and cost management systems
· Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
· Ability to represent the organisation professionally at all times
