My client, a leading supply chain services organization, is in need of an Assistant Purchasing Manager to join their team in their limerick offices. This is a great opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Purchasing Manager to support the Purchasing and Customer Service teams. This role will help coordinate daily operations, and play a key part in maintaining smooth purchasing processes. Key Responsibilities for the Assistant Purchasing Manager include but are not limited to: Support the Purchasing Manager in developing and implementing the organisation's purchasing strategy. Coordinate workloads within the Purchasing and Customer Service teams, including during holiday or sick leave cover. Release purchase orders and manage stock-related sign-offs. Ensure the accuracy of the SPR report and maintain visibility on stock demand and levels. Liaise effectively with suppliers, manufacturers, internal departments, and customers. Organise and lead weekly virtual meetings with purchasing and internal teams to review project updates and operational needs. Analyse data, reports, and statistics to support procurement decisions. Attend meetings with management and sales/account managers to ensure aligned purchasing strategies. Manage and maintain tender files in collaboration with the wider team. Assist with training, supervising, and motivating staff to ensure productivity and high performance. Coordinate with the warehouse to ensure timely execution of procurement activities. The desired requirements for the Assistant Purchasing Manager include: Previous Purchasing experience in a similar role Previous supervisory experience desired Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel is essential. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP Strong teamwork ethic and communication skills (both verbal and written). Proven ability to follow detailed instructions and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Comfortable managing people and contributing to a positive team environment.
