Manufacturing Manager Position
The Manufacturing Manager reports to the Director of Operations. The role focuses on maintaining on-time deliveries, high quality, and improving production efficiencies through resource planning, lean manufacturing techniques, and disciplined processes. The goal is to achieve low-cost production while ensuring customer satisfaction. The manager will collaborate with product development to optimize integration of product and production processes and foster a work environment that promotes long-term employee satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
1. Supervise production line flow, including staffing and equipment adjustments to ensure schedules are met.
2. Manage all manufacturing personnel activities with high visibility and accessibility.
3. Evaluate manufacturing operations for improvements using effective metrics, capital, personnel, and standards.
4. Coordinate with Quality Control to uphold quality standards and address deficiencies.
5. Work with schedulers to align staffing with business needs.
6. Train, motivate, coach, reward, and discipline staff; resolve team issues.
7. Enforce safety policies and ensure safety training; investigate accidents promptly.
8. Resolve production issues collaboratively across departments.
9. Assign duties, monitor work quality, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
10. Maintain knowledge of equipment and machinery capacities.
11. Identify potential barriers proactively and propose solutions.
12. Set departmental goals aligned with strategic planning.
13. Support continuous improvement initiatives and empower team participation.
14. Supervise manufacturing employees directly.
15. Perform management tasks in accordance with organizational policies and legal requirements.
16. Handle hiring, training, performance appraisal, rewards, and disciplinary actions.
17. Address manufacturing process and personnel concerns with viable solutions.
18. Drive continuous improvement opportunities.
19. Perform additional duties as assigned and travel as required.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree (Level 8) preferred but not mandatory.
* 3-5 years supervisory experience in manufacturing.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings.
* Experience with capacity planning for personnel and equipment.
* Ability to train and motivate staff to improve quality, KPIs, and profitability.
* Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
* Flexible, innovative, and able to prioritize effectively.
* Strong business acumen and facilitation skills.
* Understanding of lean manufacturing principles.
* Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments.
* Strong organizational and planning skills.
