Key Responsibilities:
* Coordinate daily groupage collections and deliveries across Ireland and the UK.
* Manage freight movements through Dublin Port, ensuring all documentation and customs requirements are accurately completed and submitted.
* Communicate with hauliers, subcontractors, and customers to schedule and monitor shipments.
* Input and maintain accurate shipment data within the transport management system.
* Prepare and manage all necessary customs clearance paperwork.
* Ensure compliance with all road transport legislation and company policies.
* Proactively resolve any transport or customer issues in a timely manner.
* Liaise with warehouse teams to ensure correct loading/unloading of groupage freight.
* Monitor driver performance and adherence to schedules.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and service providers.
* Act as the first point of contact for drivers and subcontractors, providing ongoing support and guidance throughout the day.
* Assist in managing driver schedules, ensuring routes are optimised and service levels are met.
* Coordinate with subcontractors, ensuring they meet performance standards and maintain quality service.
* Support fleet management operations by ensuring that vehicles are properly maintained,serviced, and roadworthy.
* Ensure fleet records are accurately maintained, including servicing, inspections, andcompliance documentation.
* Act as a liaison between drivers, subcontractors, and the transport management team,ensuring smooth communication and quick resolution of any operational issues.
* Work closely with Department Manager to implement best practices and streamline dailyoperations for optimal efficiency.
* Ensure any delays or issues related to transport operations are communicated quickly andefficiently to all relevant parties.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Minimum 2 - 3 years' experience in a road freight forwarding role, with a focus on groupage.
* Strong working knowledge of Dublin Port operations, customs procedures, and port systems.
* Experience handling UK–Ireland freight movements post-Brexit is essential.
* Proficient in transport management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
* Understanding of customs processes and procedures.
