The Cyber Security Manager is responsible for safeguarding the network, systems, applications, and data against evolving cyber threats. This role leads security operations, oversees cyber‑defence initiatives, and ensures compliance with regulatory and industry standards. This is a role with a Surecom customer, it's a hybrid role based in Dublin.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement the organisation's cyber security strategy aligned with regulatory requirements (e.g., NIS/NIS2, GDPR, ISO
* Oversee security roadmap, annual planning, and budget management.
* Monitor the network for cyber threats targeting SS7, Diameter, 5G service-based architecture (SBA), signalling networks, and core infrastructure.
* Lead major incident handling, forensic investigations, and root cause analysis.
* Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability scans to identify and mitigate potential threats.
* Maintain cyber risk registers and conduct regular risk assessments across infrastructure and services.
* Evaluate third-party and supply-chain risks, particularly vendors of network equipment (e.g., RAN, EPC/5GC, routers, switches).
* Report regularly to senior management on the status of cybersecurity defences, incidents, and ongoing improvement plans.
Required Skills Experience
* Extensive experience in cybersecurity, with a focus on telecoms or a critical infrastructure environment.
* Degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or related field.
* Relevant certifications: CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or equivalent.
* Strong knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, PCI DSS).
* Proven track record of leading a security operations center and managing incident response.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
