Job Title
We are seeking a Senior Medical Director to lead our occupational health team.
* Create the framework for monitoring high-quality patient care within the Department.
* Manage employee fitness for work, especially in safety-critical positions.
* Administer welfare and counselling services to employees.
* Set medical standards of fitness to work for all positions, with emphasis on safety-critical roles.
* Manage the Primary General Practitioner service for employees and their families.
* Interpret and report Drug and Alcohol Testing Programme results as a Medical Review Officer.
* Support safety management systems and advise on compliance with statutory legislation.
* Administer Health Promotion services to all employees.
* Liaise with national and international organizations to ensure Occupational Health Unit standards meet best practice norms.
* Provide specialist advice on medical Ill Health Retirement of employees.
* Engage with the Faculty of Occupational Medicine to provide training for Specialist Registrars.
* Promote dissemination of medical standards of fitness for safety-critical work among the medical community.
* Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Welfare legislation by all employees.
Requirements:
1. A primary qualification in Medicine from a recognized Medical School/University.
2. Membership of the Irish College of GPs or Royal College of Physicians Ireland or equivalent.
3. Membership of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, Royal College of Physicians Ireland or equivalent.
4. On the Specialist Register of the Medical Council of Ireland in Occupational Medicine.
5. Fellowship of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians Ireland or equivalent.
6. Experience in and knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
