We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Construction Supervisor to join our client's team in Cork. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the Pharma/Chemical/Biotech industry and a proven track record in Mechanical Construction.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and managing mechanical works, including trades, contractors, and specialist sub-contractors. They will work closely with the Construction Team to ensure that the mechanical scope is properly constructed according to our client's safety and quality standards.
The Mechanical Supervisor will assist the CM with Constructability Reviews and Interactive planning sessions with the Client and Design Team. They will also ensure that the construction phase of the projects is adequately provided with suitably capable, qualified, and experienced personnel, together with all the necessary plant, tools, temporary facilities, and other resources.
The ideal candidate will have an understanding of ATEX and Hazardous Area Zoning, as well as strong leadership skills and the ability to work in cross-functional team environments. They will also be able to organise, plan, and execute multiple tasks to tight schedules, and adapt to changing priorities.
In return, the successful candidate can expect a competitive hourly rate of €50-€70 per hour, with the opportunity to negotiate based on experience. Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and manage mechanical works, including trades, contractors, and specialist sub-contractors
* Assist the CM with Constructability Reviews and Interactive planning sessions with the Client and Design Team
* Ensure that the construction phase of the projects is adequately provided with suitably capable, qualified, and experienced personnel, together with all the necessary plant, tools, temporary facilities, and other resources
* Direct and control the activities of assigned staff and their functions
* Carry out assessments and appraisals of contractors' works and report results in accordance with practice
* Manage construction works from pre-construction to system turnover
Requirements:
* A minimum of 10+ years' recent relevant experience in a Mechanical Construction role, preferably in the Pharma/Chemical/Biotech industry
* A proven track record in Mechanical Construction is required
* An understanding of ATEX and Hazardous Area Zoning
* The ability to organise, plan, and execute multiple tasks to tight schedules
* Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities
* Good communication skills combined with an imaginative and creative approach to problem-solving
* Strong leadership skills and the ability to work in cross-functional team environments
