Overview: The EPA is recruiting for Inspector II (Level 4) positions within its Radiation Protection Regulation unit. Successful candidates will regulate the use of ionising radiation across medical, dental, veterinary, educational, and industrial sectors. This includes enforcement, inspections, authorisations, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on public and worker safety. Key Responsibilities: Authorise and inspect radiation-using facilities Enforce national and international radiation protection regulations Evaluate and report on radiological data Provide expert advice to stakeholders Essential Requirements: NFQ Level 8 degree in Science, Engineering, or a relevant discipline Minimum 2 years relevant experience in areas such as radiation protection, nuclear safety, ISO quality systems ), radiological legislation, or safe radiation use Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills Competency in data analysis and reporting Full valid Irish/EU Class B driving licence Eligibility: Applicants must meet citizenship/residency criteria (EEA/UK/Swiss citizens or eligible non-EEA family members with Stamp 4/5 visa).
