We are seeking a strategic Technology professional to lead our Client Facing Operations Technology team at our manufacturing facility in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland. This role involves integrating digital and AI advancements aligned with Industry 4.0/Smart Manufacturing principles to support business growth.
The Dun Laoghaire site is entering a new growth phase with investments in new capabilities, including syringe and inspection lines, tech transfers, and new facilities supporting Amgen's growth strategy.
The Associate Director will oversee operations support and lifecycle management of all information and technology capabilities at the site, including manufacturing, engineering, quality, lab operations, and supply chain systems, along with digital and AI tools. The role reports directly to the Director, Head of Technology in Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leading the client-facing operations technology department, supporting computer application solutions for site operations.
2. Ensuring site quality and compliance practices align with enterprise-wide systems.
3. Developing strategies for site installations of corporate computing systems and fostering collaboration with corporate and remote site technology groups.
4. Hiring, mentoring, and developing talented technology professionals.
5. Supporting the development of an overall information systems strategic plan for the site.
6. Collaborating with various management teams to identify critical business issues and develop technology solutions.
7. Promoting training and information exchange across departments.
8. Fostering a culture of innovation through proof of concepts, pilots, and projects based on leading-edge technology.
9. Partnering with big data and analytics companies to identify and recommend technology solutions.
10. Refining the site's technology strategy and roadmap to support reliability, efficiency, agility, and differentiation.
11. Monitoring external technology trends and facilitating innovation to maintain competitive advantage.
12. Ensuring smooth technology adoption and delivery of efficiencies.
Qualifications
- Doctorate + 6 years or Master's + 10 years or Bachelor's + 12 years of relevant experience in Information Systems or manufacturing technology.
- 6 years of managerial or leadership experience managing teams, projects, or resources.
Preferred Qualifications
- Over 10 years of experience in Information Systems or manufacturing technology.
- Expertise in Automation, Data Integrity, Network Security, and regulatory compliance.
- Educational background in Computer Science, Manufacturing Automation, or similar.
- Experience in biopharma or pharmaceutical industries.
- Depth in IT/OT systems, with skills in automation, enterprise systems, and digital solutions.
- Proven ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and manage complex projects using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with enterprise systems like Oracle, SAP, Veeva, Salesforce, etc.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotech operational systems and regulatory environment.
- Strong coordination, mentoring, and strategic planning skills.
