Role Overview
The Clinical Application Specialist will play a key role in supporting surgeons, theatre staff, and hospital teams in the use of the company's surgical portfolio. This is a
hands-on, customer-facing role
, combining clinical expertise with education, training, and technical support in live theatre environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide
clinical and technical support
for surgical procedures in operating theatres
* Deliver
product training and education
to surgeons, nurses, and theatre staff
* Support new product introductions, evaluations, and trials in hospitals
* Act as the clinical expert for the company's surgical portfolio
* Build and maintain strong relationships with key clinical stakeholders
* Work closely with Sales, Marketing, and Regulatory teams to support business objectives
* Ensure compliance with company procedures, hospital policies, and regulatory standards
* Gather clinical feedback and market insights to support continuous improvement
Candidate Profile
Essential Requirements
* Clinical background (e.g.
Operating Theatre Nurse, ODP, Biomedical/Clinical Specialist
, or similar)
* Experience working in
surgical environments
(theatre-based experience essential)
* Strong understanding of surgical procedures and hospital workflows
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Full driving licence and willingness to travel within Ireland
Desirable
* Previous experience in a
clinical specialist / application specialist
role
* Medical device or surgical industry experience
* Experience supporting complex or capital surgical equipment
