Job Description
The posts will be based in the Ó Broin lab as part of CLuB – the All‑Ireland Cancer Liquid Biopsies Consortium. CluB is a €4 M North‑South Shared Research Programme, which includes collaborators in the University of Galway, Trinity College Dublin (TCD), St. James’s Hospital (SJH), and Queens University Belfast (QUB). CluB’s aim is to advance our understanding of cancer biology and improve clinical care for cancer patients through the use of liquid biopsies for the identification of minimally‑invasive, integrative biomarkers for therapeutic response.
Role
At the University of Galway, we are developing a customised cloud‑based instance of the cBioPortal cancer genomics platform to serve as an all‑Ireland “virtual biobank” for CLuB data in order to drive discovery in this area. To advance this work, we are seeking two highly‑motivated post‑doctoral researchers to fill the following roles:
Role 1: Development of a web application for the CLuB All‑Ireland cancer liquid biopsy data to facilitate integration of clinical and genomic data.
Role 2: Development of ML models for predictive analytics on integrated clinical and genomic data (prediction of recurrence/progression‑free survival).
Salary: Postdoctoral Researcher salary scale €46,805 – €59,654 per annum (subject to the project’s funding limitations), and pro‑rata for shorter and/or part‑time contracts.
