A senior mechanical quantity surveyor is sought by a specialist contractor to join their expanding commercial team in Dublin.
This company delivers complex fire suppression solutions, including large-scale sprinkler systems, for high-profile clients.
The role involves managing pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties, preparing cost plans and budgets, conducting procurement processes, and overseeing contract administration.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in quantity surveying or a related discipline and minimum 7 years experience in a QS role. They will possess strong knowledge of contracts, procurement processes, and cost control methodologies.
Responsibilities:
* Manage all pre- and post-contract quantity surveying duties for mechanical/fire protection projects
* Prepare detailed cost plans, budgets, and tender documentation
* Conduct procurement processes and evaluate subcontractor and supplier packages
* Oversee contract administration, valuations, variations, and final accounts
* Ensure accurate cost reporting, forecasting, and cash flow management
* Liaise with design, site, and commercial teams to ensure project delivery aligns with budget and timelines
* Provide commercial leadership across multiple domestic and European projects
* Mentor junior QS team members and promote best practices
Requirements:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
* Minimum of 7 years experience in a mechanical or building services QS role
* Experience in fire protection or sprinkler systems would be highly regarded
* Strong knowledge of contracts, procurement processes, and cost control methodologies
* Proven ability to manage complex projects independently
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and reporting skills
* Willingness to travel occasionally for project needs in mainland Europe
