Location:KildareEmployment Type:Full-timeSector:Data Centres / Industrial / Mission-Critical ProjectsOverviewWe are seeking an experiencedSenior Mechanical Pre-Construction Managerto lead the planning, coordination, and technical development of major mechanical packages across data centre and mission-critical projects. This role is critical in defining scope, supporting tender activity, reviewing design information, and ensuring seamless transition into delivery.The ideal candidate will bring strong mechanical engineering expertise, pre-construction experience, and the ability to work collaboratively with clients, consultants, and internal teams.Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Construction LeadershipManage the mechanical pre-construction process from concept stage through to finalised design.Engage early with clients and design teams to clarify scope, identify risks, and define project priorities.Review mechanical designs, specifications, drawings, and load calculations for accuracy and constructability.Contribute to pre-construction schedules, resource plans, procurement strategies, and technical planning.Support value-engineering initiatives to optimise design, cost, and programme efficiencies.Technical & Commercial InputProvide mechanical input into tender submissions, including scope breakdowns and technical commentary.Assess subcontractor proposals for compliance with project requirements.Work alongside estimating teams to support mechanical cost planning and early-stage budgeting.Ensure all work adheres to relevant codes, standards, and mission-critical industry best practices.Stakeholder & Team CoordinationAct as the point of contact for mechanical pre-construction discussions with clients, design consultants, and internal teams.Coordinate with MEP, BIM, and design management teams to ensure aligned and coordinated outputs.Lead technical meetings, design workshops, and progress reviews.Provide clear documentation and scope definition for smooth handover to the construction delivery team.About You5-10 years' experience in mechanical engineering, design management, or pre-construction within data centres, industrial, or large MEP-focused projects.Solid understanding of HVAC, chilled water, hot water, pump systems, air handling units, and mission-critical mechanical design principles.Ability to review technical documentation and identify risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities.Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.Commercial awareness with experience supporting tenders or early-stage project planning.Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline preferred.Why This Role?Opportunity to shape complex mechanical packages at the earliest stage of major projects.Work on cutting-edge data centre and mission-critical projects across Europe.Join a collaborative and fast-growing engineering environment with strong future progression opportunities.
