Principal responsibilities of the role
Ballinasloe Credit Union is currently seeking applications for two full-time Member Services Officer positions, with one role based in Ballinasloe and one in our Gort branch.
These roles present an excellent opportunity for individuals wishing to commence or further develop a career within the credit union or broader financial services sector.
The successful candidates will be responsible for delivering a professional, efficient, and member-focused service, while supporting the operational and administrative functions of the Credit Union.
Key Responsibilities
Providing a high standard of front-line service to members, including the processing of lodgements, withdrawals, loan transactions, repayments, and foreign exchange services
Handling cash accurately and reconciling daily balances in accordance with internal procedures
Assisting members with queries and providing information on the full range of products and services offered
Promoting the services and products of Ballinasloe Credit Union
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date member records
Performing general administrative duties, including document management and filing
Supporting operational activities and participating in project work as required
Ensuring compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure the efficient operation of the office
Undertaking training and development as required to meet regulatory and business needs
The Person
Strong administrative and organisational skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
Previous experience in cash handling (desirable)
Experience in a credit union or financial services environment (advantageous but not essential)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications
The ability to handle confidential information with discretion
A flexible and proactive approach to work
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
Qualification
The successful candidates will be required to satisfy the Minimum Competency Code requirements as set out by the Central Bank (e.g. QFA, APA Loans, CUA, Pathways CU Diploma, ACCUP).
Where necessary, the Credit Union will support the attainment of these qualifications.
