Senior Project Communications Manager
Location: Dublin, Cork, Galway.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Communications Manager to lead the design and delivery of public consultation and project communications strategies for major infrastructure projects across water, energy, transport and wider public sector environments. This role will shape how complex projects are communicated, understood and supported by clients, stakeholders and communities.
Purpose & Scope of the Role
The Senior Project Communications Manager will manage communications for high‑profile infrastructure projects, developing and implementing consultation and stakeholder engagement strategies. The role involves advising clients, overseeing contract management, collaborating with project managers, engineers, environmental specialists, local authorities and statutory bodies, and leading the preparation and delivery of consultation materials and reports.
Core Capabilities
Trusted Advisor and Client Relationship Leadership: Provide strategic communications advice, guiding clients through complex consultation processes and building long‑term relationships.
Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Lead meetings, briefings and consultations, translate technical information into clear messaging, and support preparation of consultation reports.
Project Leadership and Delivery: Own communications delivery across projects, coordinate outputs, manage quality and ensure timely delivery while supporting resource and workload planning.
Strategic and Commercial Awareness: Contribute to business development, tendering and strategic planning and identify delivery risks early.
Risk Management and Governance: Maintain compliance, quality assurance and performance monitoring, support risk management activities and contribute to continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Experience
Significant experience leading client relationships and senior‑level service delivery.
Strong background in project communications, consultation strategy and stakeholder engagement.
Experience working in fast‑paced, dynamic environments requiring prioritisation and accountability.
Proven ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and manage complex project communications activity.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, translating technical information for diverse audiences.
Demonstrated capability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality outputs to deadline.
Beneficial
Experience in infrastructure, planning, public consultation or communications within water, energy, transport or other public sector environments.
Project Management Experience
Experience representing clients at statutory planning hearings.
Experience mentoring or line managing junior team members.
Familiarity with tendering, business development and strategic planning activity.
Training
Project management training is available and supported for this role, where appropriate.
Working Environment
This senior, collaborative role is based across Dublin, Cork and Galway. It involves working closely with multidisciplinary internal teams and external clients, attending project meetings, workshops, consultation events and stakeholder briefings, and supporting live projects from early design through construction.
