About the Role
An opportunity has risen to join a leading food processing company based in Cork. They are seeking a skilled and motivated Site Maintenance Electrician to join the Engineering Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and improving electrical systems and equipment across the site, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of production and facility services.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out preventive and reactive electrical maintenance on all production, packaging, and site services equipment.
Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical faults on machinery, control panels, motors, sensors, and automated systems to minimise downtime.
Perform electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades in line with current regulations and company standards.
Support ongoing process and equipment improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure equipment operates safely and effectively.
Assist with maintenance planning, spare parts management, and maintenance documentation.
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, food safety, and electrical safety standards on site.
Participate in inspections, testing, and certification of electrical systems where required.
Requirements
Qualified Electrician with recognised electrical trade certification.
Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing, or food processing environment.
Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting ability on electrical and automated systems.
Experience with PLC-controlled equipment, motors, drives, and control systems.
Good understanding of preventive maintenance systems and electrical best practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern.
