Event Planning and Coordination:

* Assist in planning and coordinating banqueting events, including weddings, conferences, parties, and other special events.
* Collaborate with clients to understand their event requirements, such as seating arrangements, menu selections, audio-visual needs, and special requests.
* Coordinate with departments like the kitchen, housekeeping, and maintenance to meet all event requirements.
* Prepare event schedules, including setup and breakdown times, and communicate these to relevant teams.


Guest Service and Satisfaction:

* Provide exceptional customer service throughout the banqueting experience, promptly addressing guest needs and requests.
* Serve as a point of contact for guests, resolving any concerns or issues during events.
* Monitor event proceedings to ensure guest satisfaction, proactively resolving problems or complaints.


Staff Management and Training:

* Assist in recruiting, training, and supervising banqueting staff, including servers, bartenders, and support staff.
* Schedule and assign duties, ensuring adequate coverage for each event.
* Conduct training sessions on service standards, event protocols, and safety procedures.
* Support staff during events to ensure smooth operations and adherence to standards.


Operational Support:

* Work with the Conference & Banqueting Manager to develop and implement standard operating procedures.
* Monitor inventory levels of supplies, equipment, and beverages, coordinating with procurement for replenishment.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized banquet area.
* Assist in managing banquet budgets, including cost control and revenue forecasting.


Event Coordination and Execution:

* Oversee setup of venues, ensuring proper arrangement of tables, chairs, linens, decorations, and AV equipment.
* Supervise event operations, maintaining service standards and addressing issues promptly.
* Coordinate with outside vendors like florists and entertainers for seamless event execution.
* Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance.


Role Requirements:

* Proven experience in banqueting operations, ideally in a supervisory or assistant management role.
* Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of multitasking and prioritizing.
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
* Exceptional customer service and communication skills, with professional interaction with guests and team members.
* Knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning and wine pairing.
* Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as per event schedules.
* Proficiency with event management software, Microsoft Office, and relevant applications.
