In short, We Enable Possibility℠.Join our growing European Mortgage team and play a key role in pricing and underwriting high impact risk transfer solutions (Significant Risk Transfer, SRT) for leading European Banks in respect of mortgages and other loans. The team in Ireland is expanding quickly in line with the growing mortgage insurance segment. The Actuarial Analyst will work with a team of c.10 experienced mid-level and senior actuaries and insurance professionals.The Actuarial Analyst will gain experience in a broad range of actuarial activities including:Pricing new transactionsUnderwriting new transactionsPortfolio reporting (in-force portfolio)Capital managementEssential Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesContribute to the development of underwriting memos for new transactions:Estimate probability of default (frequency) and loss given default (severity) in respect of loan portfolios for use in internal pricing models.Understand the tranching / structuring of transactions and ensure they are reflected in internal pricing models.Review and document the characteristics (composition analysis) of loan portfolios on potential transactions.Develop understanding of different capital regimes – regulatory, rating agency and economic. Perform quarterly portfolio analysis and deliver insights to stakeholders. Assist in providing analyses to support financial reporting / planning. Stay informed of trends in European banking industry and SRT market.Knowledge & Skills:Bachelor's degree in an actuarial or mathematical discipline. Successful progress made in actuarial exams and a commitment to continue studying to complete actuarial exams. Strong mathematical skills, analytical and problem-solving ability. Attention to detail. Strong written communication skills. Ability to synthesize and clearly present findings to stakeholders. Interest in mortgage insurance / credit risk. Prior Excel experience.
