Electrical Engineer – Dublin
We are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team, where you will contribute to the planning, design, and execution of electrical engineering projects. In this role, you will collaborate with project teams, applying your expertise, creativity, and problem-solving abilities to deliver innovative engineering solutions.
Responsibilities:
* Perform design computations, prepare quantity estimates, and develop construction cost estimates for small to mid-sized projects, including medium voltage power distribution, low voltage systems, fire alarm systems, backup power generation, and life safety systems.
* Utilize computer-aided engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) to create engineering and design documents.
* Modify and update reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and environmental impact studies.
* Conduct engineering calculations for tasks such as lighting design, power distribution, and equipment sizing.
* Develop and refine electrical riser diagrams and select equipment based on recommendations from Project Designers/Engineers.
* Produce specialized drawings and equipment schedules, ensuring accurate representation of designs.
* Research and analyze design options, documenting findings for use by the project team.
* Keep Project Managers updated on workload, project scope changes, and additional service requirements.
* Provide necessary information to support the development of project specifications.
* Investigate code compliance issues and consult with code officials as needed.
* Maintain an organized work environment to ensure efficient collaboration with team members.
* Ensure that drawings and designs comply with company production and design standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
* 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering and design within the building design industry (lighting systems, fire alarm systems, branch circuitry, etc.).
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
* Strong proficiency in engineering design software and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit).
* Solid understanding of electrical system design and applicable industry codes.
* Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification.
* Willingness to travel as required, depending on project complexity and location.
* This role involves fieldwork at client sites, including construction, manufacturing, research, and other non-administrative environments.
