Insurance Underwriter Role
As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for evaluating and managing risk in non-motor lines. This role involves underwriting new business, servicing existing accounts, and providing technical expertise to ensure alignment with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the underwriting function by ensuring adherence to internal governance and regulatory requirements.
* Provide expert advice on non-motor lines to drive business growth and profitability.
* Handle referrals and underwriting for both new and existing business, contributing to profitable growth.
* Develop skills and expertise to adapt to industry changes and evolving underwriting challenges.
* Ensure effective collaboration with claims teams to drive proactive broker and client meetings.
Additionally, you will be expected to contribute to proposed process improvements and policy updates, demonstrate market expertise with knowledge of industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes.
Requirements:
* Recognized insurance qualification (e.g., FCII, ACII, CIP) or relevant academic degree.
* In-depth knowledge of liability insurance markets and regulations.
* Proven underwriting experience in liability product lines.
* Strong profile within the insurance broking community.
* Property/casualty underwriting experience is essential.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be skilled in diplomacy and empathy, and be able to handle complex, confidential information comfortably.
