Job Description
The Contract/Cost Manager will oversee the pre- and post-contract requirements of the Infrastructure Department’s Portfolio, ensuring compliance with framework agreements and Work Orders. Pre-contract, they will collaborate with Procurement and Legal teams, supporting Programme Directors in contractor and consultant engagement according to procedures and strategies.
Post-contract, responsibilities include managing Work Orders from award to completion, overseeing subcontractor approvals, monitoring performance against KPIs, and managing disputes as needed.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure compliance with Contract Management standards and contractual terms, managing reports on non-compliance.
* Manage relationships with contractors and consultants to improve delivery quality.
* Review and tailor draft contracts, coordinating with legal, technical, and financial advisors.
* Lead negotiations and provide guidance to project teams.
* Calculate delay damages if required.
* Develop and review contract management strategies and KPI targets.
Qualifications
* 15+ years in contract/cost management, with at least 7 years NEC experience (10+ for intermediate level).
* Knowledge of contractor and consultant performance monitoring and claims management.
* Experience establishing performance management frameworks and KPIs.
* Proficiency in administering NEC contracts and developing strategies.
* Leadership skills and analytical capabilities.
* Understanding of CEMAR and Unifier platforms.
