Research Associate
A leading global biopharmaceutical company is seeking a Research Associate to join their Analytical Sciences team in Cork.
This is an excellent opportunity for a scientist with experience in biochemistry, biology, analytical testing, or biopharmaceutical development to work on innovative therapies that support patients with rare and life‑changing conditions.
What You'll Be Doing
Perform analytical testing to support drug substance and drug product development activities.
Conduct testing of in‑process and final product samples using a range of analytical techniques.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including HPLC, UPLC, CE, FTIR, and plate‑based assays.
Analyse and interpret experimental data, providing clear scientific conclusions and recommendations.
Ensure all laboratory work is documented accurately in compliance with GMP, GLP, and company procedures.
Collaborate with teams across Manufacturing, Quality, Process Development, and Technical Operations.
Present findings at team meetings and contribute to project discussions.
Maintain laboratory records and electronic data systems to inspection‑ready standards.
What We're Looking For
Essential
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.
Experience working in a GMP and/or GLP laboratory environment.
Hands‑on experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, UPLC, CE, FTIR, ELISA, or other bioassays.
Knowledge of protein chemistry, biological assays, or cell culture techniques.
Strong data analysis, problem‑solving, and scientific reporting skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Desirable
Experience with method qualification, transfer, or troubleshooting.
Exposure to biopharmaceutical or gene therapy development environments.
Previous experience supporting process development or manufacturing operations.
This opportunity is a 7‑month contract, Shanbally, Cork, Ireland, paying up to €56,500 per annum (pro rata).
