The continuation of that recognition is predicated on maintaining a class leading operation warehouse. Leading the warehouse team, your key focus is on maintaining the operational status of the warehouse ensuring that the needs of our customers are met whilst continually to improve the quality of service in line with the strategic objectives of the business.ResponsibilitiesManage the daily operational requirements of the warehouse covering outbound activities ensuring all procedures are implemented and working efficiently & effectively.Lead and manage the warehouse team including creation of staff training & development plans in accordance with the strategic objectives of the business.Deploy, monitor, and support direct reports, ensuring that a high standard and quality of work is maintained.Forecast departmental workload and agree planned resource levels accordingly with a specific focus on key personnel at critical times.Ensure that a satisfactory workflow and work rate is maintained throughout the working day and that all productivity targets along with service level agreements for Trade Counter orders, Van deliveries, Couriers and other time critical deadlines are reached.Proactively monitor picking and packing accuracy and investigate any issues or errors in a timely manner. Take control of any process changes that may be needed as a result of errors.To effectively communicate at critical times throughout the day with UK and other markets part of the RS Group to ensure best results for customers.Apply best practice stock management techniques, including timely and regular stock-taking, critical stock recording and rotation, location planning and stock cleansing such as returns to supplies and management of discontinuations.Maintain and manage warehouse capacity, ensuring space for rotation of stock at all times.Maintain stock integrity and stock counting to ensure all inventory control measures are maintained.Manage returnable and reusable packaging in accordance with company policy / best practice while monitoring and ordering packaging requirements as needed.Qualifications and SkillsPrevious experience in a warehouse or logistics role.Experience with SAP is a distinct advantage.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain tasks in an efficient and effective way to different levels within the organisation in various formats.Understanding of inventory capacity management.Time management and planning skills with a proven ability to work well under pressure.Results orientated.Strong commercial and analytical skills.Forklift and manual handling training an advantage.BenefitsAt RS Ireland we believe our people should be rewarded for all their hard work.
