Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of the organization, you will play a pivotal role in driving safety excellence across modular construction sites.

About the Role

This senior-level position is responsible for developing and implementing effective health and safety systems, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation, company standards, and industry best practices. You will work closely with stakeholders to foster a proactive safety culture, promoting recognition as a leader in Health Safety and Environmental best practice.

Key Responsibilities

* Develop project-specific HSE plans aligned with organizational and client requirements.
* Conduct regular site visits to monitor compliance and provide hands-on support to project teams.
* Adapt HSE strategies to address site-specific challenges and changing project phases.
* Ensure compliance with Irish legislation, including the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and Construction Regulations 2013.
* Maintain and review risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and COSHH assessments.
* Lead the design and implementation of HSE improvement programs and initiatives.
* Evaluate risks specific to modular construction, such as confined spaces, working at height, and mobile plant.
* Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformities, leading root cause analyses and corrective actions.
* Organize toolbox talks, safety stand-downs, and engagement initiatives.
* Serve as the primary contact for external audits, contractor engagement, and client-based HSE meetings on project sites.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

* A Level 7 or higher qualification in Occupational Health & Safety or equivalent.
* Membership of IOSH.
* A Full clean Irish/EU driving licence and willingness to travel across multiple sites.
* Occupational First Aid and/or Mental Health First Aid qualification.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role within the construction industry, preferably with modular/offsite experience.
* Experience undertaking Health and Safety audits.
* Excellent interpersonal and training skills.
* Ability to identify trends through data analysis.
