DublinPermanent PositionSolar Fitouts (Commercial)The Solar PV Project Development Engineer is responsible for assessing the technical feasibility of solar photovoltaic (PV) installations by analyzing site conditions, reviewing energy audits, and overseeing engineering designs. This role combines technical evaluation, design, quality control, and project coordination to ensure successful deployment of solar energy systems for residential, commercial, or utility-scale applications.Key Responsibilities:Site Evaluation and FeasibilityConduct on-site audits to evaluate the suitability of proposed locations for PV systemsReview energy audits and assessments to determine project viability and regulatory compliancePerform risk assessments and propose mitigation measures for project sitesSystem Design and EngineeringDesign solar PV systems using engineering software to create accurate layouts and electrical configurationsSelect system components based on site conditions, project goals, and technical feasibilityReview and interpret computer simulations to estimate energy generation and system performanceProject Planning and OversightDevelop and maintain project schedules and technical documentationEvaluate progress of active projects and propose adjustments to stay within scope, budget, and timelineLiaise with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory authorities throughout project developmentOversee site activities including installation, scaffolding, and contractor compliance with safety and design standardsQuality and Safety AssuranceConduct quality inspections during installation to ensure compliance with design and commercial requirementsReview test results for PV and grounding systemsSupport the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for quality control and site safetyPerform site safety inspections and ensure all work is conducted according to relevant health and safety standardsQualifications:Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)3–5 years of experience in the solar PV industry, with preference for experience in systems >200 kWExperience with distributed generation, commercial, and utility-scale solar PV design and constructionNABCEP certification is a plusTechnical SkillsProficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and solar simulation tools such as PVSyst, PVSol Premium, Helioscope, Pylon, or PVcaseStrong understanding of technical specifications, construction documentation, and project governance principlesSoft Skills & Other RequirementsStrong written and verbal communication skillsHighly organized and detail-orientedAbility to work independently and as part of a cross-functional teamFull driver’s license preferredWillingness to work occasionally outdoors on installation sitesFor further information please contact Thomas in Brightpath.INDTW
