Fire Safety Specialist
This role places you in an office just outside of Cork City Centre, within the Healthcare sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Regularly inspect buildings and fire equipment to ensure proper installation, clear signage, good condition, and operational readiness.
* Develop and review fire safety protocols, including evacuation procedures for various buildings and institutions.
* Inspect premises and equipment with high fire risks and report any breaches of fire safety codes.
* Train staff on fire safety procedures, alarm operation, and escape routes.
* Manage minor fires until the fire brigade arrives.
* Organize regular fire drills and ensure their execution.
* Monitor water supplies for firefighting purposes and report deficiencies.
* Ensure hydrants are clearly identifiable.
* Advise on interpretation of Fire Protection Standards and Building Regulations.
* Maintain records of inspections, fires, and relevant matters.
Requirements:
* A Level 7 qualification in Engineering, Fire Engineering, Architecture, Health & Safety, or Building Services/Building Surveying.
* Minimum two years' experience in a comparable Fire and Safety role.
* High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
