Senior Group AccountantMy client is a rapidly expanding, private equity backed retail group operating across Ireland, the UK and additional jurisdictions. They are currently recruiting for a newly created Senior Group Accountant role to join their head office in Dublin City Centre.This role will suit a qualified accountant with a commercial mindset, who can produce audit-ready monthly accounts, maintain balance sheet integrity, and bring strong cashflow awareness to the finance function.This is a pure accounting and financial control role — fully focused on management accounts, reconciliations, balance sheet ownership, and cashflow insight.You will not be involved in day-to-day transactional work; instead, you will operate at a higher level, ensuring the group has accurate financial information, commercial visibility, and control over cash.Key ResponsibilitiesMonthly Close & Audit-Ready Management AccountsOwn the full month-end close for all entities across the group.Prepare monthly management accounts including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow.Deliver audit-quality reconciliations and schedules on a monthly basis.Provide clear, commercial commentary on performance, trends, and variances.Balance Sheet OwnershipMaintain full responsibility for balance sheet accuracy across 20+ companies.Produce monthly reconciliations for:Bank accounts & payment platforms (Stripe, Revolut, Wise, Crezco, etc.)Intercompany loans & rechargesAccruals, prepayments, provisionsFixed assets & depreciationVAT, PAYE, CT, withholding tax and other tax accountsEnsure each entity is monthly audit-ready, with well-documented support.Cashflow Management & Commercial InsightMonitor weekly and monthly cash movements across all jurisdictions.Produce rolling cashflow forecasts and identify risks/opportunities early.Work with the CFO to support strategic decisions (capex, financing, timing of payments, tax planning).Bring a commercial lens to numbers — understanding what drives margins, working capital, revenue cycles and dentist pay models.Controls & Process ImprovementStrengthen processes around monthly close, reconciliations, and reporting.Improve consistency and automation, high level of automation exists, always room for improvement.Identify inefficiencies and propose commercially sensible solutions.Year-End & Audit SupportPrepare complete audit files for all entities.Ensure that year-end is simply a continuation of the audit-ready monthly process.Liaise with external auditors and manage audit queries efficiently.The person:Qualified accountant with 5+ years' pqeStrong technical accounting skills and deep balance sheet experience.Proven ability to produce audit-standard monthly accounts with minimal supervision.Deep experience in cashflow preparation and management.Highly skilled in reconciliations across complex multi-entity structures.Comfortable working in a high-volume, multi-company environment.Salary:€80k - €85k depending on experience, plus benefits.Hybrid working, 4 days on site and 1 at home
