Accountant / Experienced Bookkeeper

Coffey & Co is a growing accounting practice based in Limerick.
We are now seeking an experienced accounting professional to join our expanding team.
This role is suitable for a qualified accountant, part-qualified accountant, or an experienced bookkeeper with strong practice experience.
Reporting directly to the owner, you will have autonomy in managing your client portfolio and finalising assignments from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors
Finalising accounts and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Completion of day-to-day bookkeeping where required
Preparing and processing payroll for clients
Managing Revenue submissions including PAYE/PRSI, VAT, RCT, and Corporation Tax
Liaising with clients, resolving queries, and providing ongoing support
Monitoring and managing client deadlines independently
Working on your own initiative to complete assignments to a high standard
General accounting and administrative duties as required
Key Skills & Experience
Experience working in an Irish accounting practice is essential
Fully qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience — all will be considered
Strong technical ability and confidence in finalising accounts and returns independently
Solid understanding of accounting and tax fundamentals
Proficiency with Surf, Xero, QuickBooks Online, Dext, and other accounting software
Strong Excel, Word, and Outlook skills
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Proactive, motivated, and able to manage multiple clients and deadlines
Strong communication skills with a client-focused approach
