Overview
Our Dublin based client are looking for a Lead Software Engineer, AI to join their team on a permanent basis. Global based company with a growing office in Dublin who operate in an exciting and modern sector that focuses on health and technology. For this role they are looking for an individual who has experience in AI as it's a major part of the role and journey this company are on. You will be part of a growing team and be the subject matter expert for AI Development in Dublin.
Responsibilities
Leadership in a hands-on and highly technical role
Manage and mentor a team of 5–8
Ownership on the end-to-end delivery and outcomes for your team and projects
Building on high-quality, scalable AI & cloud solutions that will meet delivery commitments and business goals
Act as a product owner and work closely with technical architects, Engineers, Analysts, and product managers to translate requirements into solutions.
Drive and maintain engineering best practices across design, AI, security, and reliability.
Contribute to the wider planning, execution and ensure a clear level of transparency and predictability.
Proactively communicate on levels of risk, dependencies to help unblock delivery when challenges arise.
Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support team and business objectives.
Qualifications
7+ years of software development or architecture experience, with at least 3-4 years in senior or management level roles
Have significant experience architecting and building enterprise-wide cloud-native solutions.
Expertise with Amazon Web Services (AWS), particularly:
AWS Lambda
API Gateway
DynamoDB
Programming skills and a background in Python
Gen AI and Intelligent systems that include LLM, RAG and Agentic AI
Hands on experience with Gen AI systems would be an advantage
Excellent understanding of software development best practices, design patterns, and SDLC methodologies.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and cloud ecosystems.
Understanding of data governance, security architecture, and compliance in cloud environments.
