Commercial Administrator at GMC Utilities Group
Role Overview
GMC is currently looking for an experienced Commercial Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will support the Commercial team on the delivery of projects across all aspects of the business from a construction point of view.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
 * Assist the Quantity Surveying team to manage subcontract packages and oversee payments to subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants along with day‑to‑day administrative duties.
 * Assist with the preparation of monthly internal valuations and monthly cost reports.
 * Report on budgets and variations.
 * Maintain subcontractor and supplier contractual details.
 * Support the Commercial team with project delivery tasks as required.
 * Tasks will be allocated to reflect increasing levels of development and experience.
Candidate Profile
 * Full clean driver’s licence essential.
 * Relevant qualification desirable.
 * 3–5 years post‑graduate experience within the construction or utilities sector.
 * Experience in civils, drainage, or utilities (water & electricity).
 * Experience in IW, ESB, drainage projects, or similar UK/Australian/USA industry ideal but not essential.
 * Confident, motivated and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
 * Ability to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
 * Time‑management abilities to meet targets.
 * Good communication, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills.
 * Integrity and respect for confidentiality and privacy.
