The
EHS Advisor
(Environmental, Health, and Safety) will be a key appointment for Malone Group and our customer, ensuring the workplace complies with environmental regulations and upholds the highest standards of health and safety for all site activities. The EHS Advisor will be tasked to support the site leadership teams in aligning EHS practices with current regulatory requirements and industry best practices. The Advisor will assist with the implementation of EHS protocols, oversee permit systems, and support overall site operations.
Reports to: Head of Projects
Key relationships: Customer EH&S team Leader, Malone Group EHS Team, Customer EH&S Department, Customer Key Stakeholders and other departments.
Responsibilities
* Actively participate as a member of site EHS team and other workgroups as required
* Lead EHS improvement initiatives from concept through to execution
* Maintain and enhance EHS procedures to ensure the site operations meet all Environmental, Health & Safety standards
* Communicate with stakeholders, and arrange training sessions where required
* Lead and oversee permitting activities to ensure full compliance with local regulatory requirements. Manage the daily permits to work protocols including;
* General Work Permit
* Permit to Work
* Working at Height
* Hot Works
* LOTO
* Confined Space
* Maintain all required EHS documentation such as reports, permits, policies, and procedures in both digital and written formats, to maintain full compliance with Malone Group policy, customer requirements and governing authorities
* Collaborate closely with customer operations and maintenance teams to promote safe practices, procedures and correct use of safety equipment
* Review equipment plans and specifications and participate in the change management assessments where appropriate
* Manage daily safety planning activities
* Conduct internal EHS audits, identify deficiencies and propose practical solutions
* Interact with the work force to promote best practice Environmental and Health & safety procedures
* Ensure compliance with all local, national, Malone Group and customer EHS policies and procedures
* Stay abreast of new EHS regulations as they are published as well as new developments in industry which may impact upon the customers business
* Deliver best in class EHS services for our customer
* Investigate incidents and accidents and recommend corrective actions
* Developing method statements and risk assessments where required
* Actively promotes compliance with the EHS plans, and if required intervene when unsafe
situations or practices are observed
* Implementing and monitoring site safety management system
* Integrate EHS requirements throughout all phases of a project
* Identify and implement appropriate EHS programmes and procedures on site
* Liaise with regularity authorities in relation to EHS matters
