A varied role to develop and maintain Operational Resilience and Business Continuity Management across the Utmost International entities, reporting to the International Business Resilience Manager. The role entails coordination across all Utmost International locations.
The role holder is responsible for ensuring that appropriate and effective processes are in place to address all of the regulatory and business needs from an Operational Resilience and Business Continuity Management (BCM perspective). The role holder will gather data from various sources to compile senior management reports for the executive committees and board regarding BCM, Operational Resilience, DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act).
The role holder will be responsible for assisting in training/exercise development and delivery as well as various workshops.
Key Responsibilities
Business Resilience
* Work closely with the IT, Operations, Facilities, Outsourcing and Risk teams to ensure that department business continuity plans and Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA’s) appropriately capture the risks associated with Operational Resilience and important Business Services.
* Implement a lessons learned process across the business which allows for the proper assessment of, and reaction to, events that challenge our ability to remain operationally resilient.
* Identify changes to standards and processes that will improve Utmost’s operational resilience.
* Coordinate with all stakeholders and negotiate changes to an agreed level.
* Collation of data for Board and Executive Committee reporting across the Group on a minimum of a bi-annual basis.
* Ensure the necessary frameworks and processes are in place to address the requirements of laws and regulations related to Operational Resilience & DORA.
* Define, schedule and implement appropriate testing self-assessment mechanisms to ensure annual compliance in this area.
* Train relevant teams and individuals to respond effectively.
* Respond to real incidents by supporting relevant teams.
Business Continuity
* Align Business Continuity Management processes across Utmost International entities, ensuring compliance with best practice and legal requirements.
* Define, schedule & implement appropriate testing schedules to ensure Business Continuity capabilities are kept up to date.
* Provide guidance on resilience matters to departments
* Monitor to ensure that BIAs, BCPs, RIAs and other BCM documents are maintained and up to date.
* Ensure that effective testing and other risk management measures are in place across all Utmost International locations to mitigate BC risk, aligning to business resilience controls.
* Analyse Business Impact Assessments to define strategic solutions.
Documentation and Monitoring of Legal Requirements
* Monitor changes to legal and regulatory requirements including FCA and CBI requirements and implications of the Digital Operational Resilience Act in the area of Business Resilience.
* Coordinate with other entities to ensure that requirements surrounding Business Resilience are met, including the MAS Guidelines and DORA on BCM.
* Make effective use of an automated platform management system to document and evolve the control landscape surrounding Business Resilience and BCM.
Desirable Experience and Skills
* Strong organisational skills.
* Track record of planning, execution and implementation.
* Strong communication skills for reports and presentations to senior management.
* Knowledge of Risk Management, Business Continuity Management, Crisis Management.
* Understanding of Operational Resilience and associated processes/controls.
* Technical experience in test planning and execution.
* Results-focused and deadline driven.
* Knowledge of Finance business resilience regulation.
* Ability to collaborate across locations and cultures, both with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ambitious.
