Lecturer in Genetics and Biomedical Science – University of Galway
Applications are invited for an appointment as Lecturer in Genetics and Biomedical Science at the University of Galway. The appointment will be made at Lecturer level, commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities
Successful candidate will be based in the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences and expected to contribute to teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes including Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Biotechnology and Genetics and Genomics, and to participate in undergraduate project supervision.
Candidate will also be expected to undertake independent research capable of attracting national and international funding, with research complementing existing strengths within the School.
Qualifications
Existing experience in genetics and biomedical science, biochemistry, molecular or cell biology is encouraged. Candidates working in cell death signal transduction, cancer biology, chromosome biology, and genetics and genomics of disease are encouraged to apply.
Salary
Salary: €64,903 to €103,538 p.a. (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)

Working hours
The full-time hours of work for academic staff are 39 hours per week.
