Overview

Talent Acquisition Specialist at West Pharmaceutical Services

Contract: 10 - 12 month fixed term
Shift Pattern: 24/7 4 shift cycle

Job Summary

Plan, direct, and supervise operations production processes and personnel within the shift operations structure. Responsible for safety, adherence to procedures and quality, production, maintenance, and schedules on assigned shifts; promote effective team member and company relations to improve team engagement and customer service.


Essential Duties And Responsibilities

* Safe operation as the primary objective; ensure shift start-up handover to the next shift, drive performance to meet site metrics (Safety, Quality, Performance, Financial).
* Maintain plant safety with focus on incident prevention via the See and Do Day (Near Miss Reporting) program and provide immediate response, thorough investigation, and corrective action for hazards and accidents.
* Out of hours, act for the Area Manager and engage the site call-out support system as required.
* Provide front-line response for safety, quality, and plant downtime issues; troubleshoot shop floor problems with quality standards and engineering support.
* Serve as site lead during weekends when senior management is not onsite; escalate issues per escalation process.
* Act as incident responder when EHS and management are offsite.
* Improve compliance culture regarding quality, housekeeping, cGMP; utilize plant systems (Deviation, CAPA, Change Control).
* Complete production paperwork including opening/closing work orders and review Batch Cards with sign-off.
* Participate in Waterford Lean Daily Management System; monitor actual vs planned performance and take corrective actions to meet safety, quality, output and efficiency targets.
* Participate in production teams and cross-functional teams; contribute to continuous improvement initiatives/projects.
* Promote site initiatives including safety programs, lean initiatives, training programs; interpret and apply policies, practices, and procedures among team members.
* Support Area Manager in organizing and delivering training; identify training requirements and plan personnel development aligned with company targets.
* Manage team performance; conduct performance reviews, support recruitment, training, and development plans; address issues promptly.
* Maintain positive employee relations; encourage communication and knowledge sharing; participate in resolving team member relations issues.
* Review and approve timekeeping; verify hours worked; adjust direct labor to meet demand and ensure on-time production and delivery with a focus on labor absorption.
* Adhere to SOPs and undertake necessary training to stay current with policies.
* Operate in accordance with guiding principles and the Code of Conduct; comply with local Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and company policies.
* Other duties as assigned.


Education

* Degree in Engineering or business-related discipline preferred


Preferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment, including supervisory experience
* Experience with SAP systems preferred

Travel Requirements

5%: Up to 13 business days per year
