About the role
The Line Manager will support and lead a department and a team of people to deliver the best shopping trip for our customers. This role reports to the Deputy Manager and ensures we are serving Ireland’s shoppers a little better every day.
Responsibilities
Creating an inspiring and welcoming environment for colleagues and customers
Acting as the Store Manager/Deputy Manager when they are not present
Ensuring the team is fully trained and validated in their role
Fostering two‑way communication and a culture of trust
Coaching and managing colleagues to deliver daily priorities and meet customer needs
Reviewing reports and systems to deliver improvements for customers and colleagues
Driving a culture of zero food waste, managing date codes and ensuring no suitable food is wasted
Recruiting and selecting passionate colleagues for the team
Understanding cleaning specifications and ensuring the plan is delivered through the team
Managing stock control activities, warehouse layout and processes to enable colleagues to complete routines right‑first‑time
Root‑causing incorrect prices, overcharges, refunds and label issues to ensure correct pricing at all times
Managing the front‑end operation so customers do not queue
Recognising when colleagues provide great service and providing feedback for improvement
Requirements
Demonstrated track record of passion for delivering the right experience for customers and colleagues
Adaptable and agile thinking
Ability to deliver key objectives in a fast‑paced environment
Go‑to person for all queries in your department
Experience shaping and influencing at the senior level
Previous retail management experience preferred
