Ayrton Group are seeking a Heath and Safety Officer to join our client, a leader in data centre solutions, at their facility in Dublin 12.
The HSO plays a key role in ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations and fostering a strong safety culture across all operations. They will support continuous improvement in safety performance and help protect employees, contractors, and the public from workplace hazards.
This is a contract role of 6 months with the potential for extension, commencing in late October/early November.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting regular, formal site audits and carrying out inspections as directed in the Safety Management System.
* Ensuring that a record of statutory inspections is kept for all activities and plant equipment.
* Advising and instructing on various safety-related topics (noise levels, use of machinery etc.).
* Drafting and communicating Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
* Reviewing existing policies and measures and updating according to legislation.
* Inspecting premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity (e.g. not using protective equipment).
* Performing incident reporting and near misses and follow up actions, identifying root causes, and implementing changes to prevent reoccurrences.
* Reviewing subcontractor Safety Statements and Safety Compliance.
* Reviewing Safe Work Plans for the tasks on site.
* Managing Health & Safety paperwork on-site.
* Managing and recommending PPE for on-site employees.
* Delivering Health & Safety induction programmes for new on-site employees and contractors.
* Attending whiteboard meetings, client meetings, and site walks.
* Delivering Toolbox Talks as required.
Key Experience:
* Recognised qualification in Health and Safety, or similar, is required.
* Minimum 1 years’ experience in a Health and Safety role, preferably in manufacturing, construction, or facilities management.
* Knowledge of ISO 45001 and other relevant safety standards.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
* Ability to work on own initiative and be innovative.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
* You must be legally permitted to live and work in Ireland.
