Program Overview and Core Responsibilities
The Green Corps Organizer Program offers a dynamic mix of classroom instruction and real-world fieldwork, designed to equip you with the tools and experience necessary for a career in environmental advocacy.
Throughout the one-year program, you will:
Participate in eight weeks of intensive classroom training focused on the principles and practices of environmental organizing.
This includes learning how to recruit and train volunteers, design impactful campaigns, organize public events, secure media coverage, and more.
Lead three to five campaign efforts over the year.
These projects, often in partnership with different environmental groups and based in varied locations, will allow you to apply your skills on the ground.
You'll work on campuses or in communities to mobilize volunteers, build grassroots support, engage the media, and push for meaningful environmental policy changes.
Manage a grassroots canvassing office during your final campaign.
This includes hiring and leading a team, engaging with the public, fundraising, recruiting new members, and building support for leading environmental and public interest organizations.
Develop critical skills and hands-on experience to launch your career in organizing.
Upon completion of the program, graduates receive job placement support and are often hired directly into full-time roles in environmental or social advocacy organizations.
