We are seeking an experiencedCommercial Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyorto take commercial leadership on a major200MW Energy Centre developmentin West Dublin. This is a senior role with full responsibility for the commercial, contractual, and financial performance of the project from pre-construction through to final account.The successful candidate will act as thecommercial lead on site, providing strategic direction, governance, and mentorship while working closely with project directors, engineering leads, construction management, and the client team.This role is ideally suited to a commercially astute professional with experience deliveringlarge-scale energy, power, data centre, pharma, or heavy industrial projects, who is comfortable operating at both strategic and detailed commercial levels in technically complex environments.Key Responsibilities:Commercial Leadership & StrategyOverall responsibility for commercial strategy, governance, and financial control of the projectLead and manage the project commercial team, providing mentoring and professional developmentAct as the primary commercial interface with the client, funders, and senior stakeholdersEnsure robust commercial systems, procedures, and reporting are implemented and maintainedPre-Construction & PlanningLead cost planning, benchmarking, and feasibility analysis for large-scale energy/industrial developmentsPreparation and ownership of project budgets, cost plans, and cash flow forecastsInput into procurement strategy, packaging, and contracting approachOversight of Bills of Quantities, scopes of work, and tender documentationLead tender evaluations, commercial negotiations, and contract award recommendationsProactive risk identification, mitigation planning, and value engineering leadershipConstruction PhaseFull commercial management of main contracts and major subcontract packagesOversight of measurement, valuation, and certification of interim paymentsLead management of variations, change control, claims, and compensation eventsOwnership of cost reporting, forecasting, and financial risk management at project levelClose collaboration with project management, engineering, and site teams to protect commercial outcomesEnsure compliance with contractual obligations under NEC, FIDIC, or bespoke contract formsStrategic management of disputes, claims avoidance, and commercial negotiationsProject Close-Out & HandoverLead final account preparation, negotiation, and settlement with clients and key subcontractorsEnsure timely and accurate commercial close-out and contribution to project handoverOversight of subcontractor final accounts and commercial completionPost-project cost analysis, lessons learned, and contribution to future project benchmarkingExperience & QualificationsEssentialDegree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or equivalent12+ years' experience in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management rolesProven experience operating at Senior QS or Commercial Manager level on large projectsTrack record delivering projects from pre-construction through to final accountExperience in energy, power generation, data centres, pharma, or heavy industrial sectorsStrong expertise in cost control, procurement, contract administration, and commercial reportingExcellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skillsDesirableDirect experience on energy or power generation projectsStrong working knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, and Irish standard forms of contractExperience on projects valued €50m–€200m+Previous responsibility for managing commercial teamsKey CompetenciesStrategic commercial and financial acumenStrong leadership and decision-making capabilityHigh-level commercial negotiation and dispute management skillsAbility to operate confidently at senior stakeholder and client levelStrong problem-solving mindset with attention to detailAbility to balance commercial risk with project delivery objectivesWhat's on OfferSenior commercial leadership role on a landmark 200MW Energy Centre projectExcellent salary and comprehensive benefits packageOpportunity to play a key role in major energy and industrial infrastructure deliveryClear progression and influence within a growing project and commercial functionPlease contact to discuss further
