Position Overview:
The Service Advisor is the first point of contact for customers and acts as the key liaison between customers and the Service Department.
They are responsible for interpreting customer concerns, ensuring clear communication, coordinating vehicle service and repairs, managing vehicle service appointments, providing accurate cost estimates and ensuring an exceptional customer experience from drop-off to collection.
The Service Advisor plays a crucial role in maintaining customer satisfaction and workshop efficiency.
The Service Advisor reports to the Service Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service and Communication:
Greet customers promptly and professionally
Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues/service requests
Provide clear explanations of repair/maintenance work required, including cost and time estimates
Maintain regular communication with customers regarding job progress and any changes to the service timeline or cost
Job Coordination and Workshop Liaison:
Prepare accurate and detailed job cards for workshop technicians to ensure they understand the customers concerns
Communicate effectively and coordinate with workshop technicians (via WorkMobile) to ensure repair work completed on time
Administration:
Prepare service invoices (using SAGE accounts software) and explain charges to customers
Process payments and ensure proper closing of work orders
Schedule service appointments
Maintain thorough customer and service records

Good technical understanding of motor vehicles an advantage
Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
Ability to work and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced, team oriented environment
Qualifications and Experience:
Minimum 2-3 years' experience as a Service Advisor in the motor industry
Certificate or Diploma in Automotive Service Management or related field (advantageous but not essential)
Proficiency with computers and automotive software
