AuxiliaGroup Recruitment are hiring a Duty Manager (Port Operations) on behalf of our client, a transport and logistics organisation operating within a highly regulated, safety‑critical environment.
About the Role
This role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant day‑to‑day operation of port activities during assigned shifts. As Duty Manager, you will be responsible for managing all port operations during vessel turnaround, ensuring the smooth and safe handling of passengers, vehicles and freight. You will work closely with port authorities, vessel crew and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all port operations during vessel turnaround
Coordinate with port authorities, security, stevedores and vessel crew
Ensure adherence to schedules and on‑time departures
Manage check‑in, boarding and disembarkation processes
Lead and supervise ground operations teams
Manage passenger and vehicle flow
Ensure compliance with safety and security regulations
Respond to operational incidents and maintain reports
Act as point of contact for escalated customer issues
Requirements
3–5+ years’ experience in transport operations
Background in airport ground operations or port/ferry operations
Experience leading or supervising teams
Strong decision‑making and organisational skills
Fluent English; French is an advantage
Full driving licence required
Desirable
Exposure to incident management or operational escalation procedures
Understanding of security, access control, or traffic flow management
