Role OverviewThe CSIS (Citi Security and Investigative Services) Lead Security Officer is a seasoned professional role.

Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business.
Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information.
Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources.
Excellent communication and diplomacy skills are required.
Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams.
Involved in coaching and training of new recruits.
Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc.

Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.What you'll doThis role will play a pivotal role in the daily operations of Citi by interacting with multiple businesses across the enterpriseThis role will leverage subject matter expertise, whether that is physical security and safety, crisis management, security technology, event security/logistics or vendor management.
Some of the responsibilities for this role are as follows:Responsible for the direct management of Citi facilities; Citi occupied properties and the security staff at those facilities as delegated by the Regional Director of SecurityOversee activities of security operations staff in an effort to safeguard premises and employees against risk of; unauthorized entry, fire, theft, vandalism, and opportunities for criminal activitiesEnforce security rules and safety standardsReview security or safety related incidents and ensure that appropriate measures to correct any deficiencies or errors are taken in an effort to reduce risk or exposure to riskEnsure that security procedures are enforced and that all security personnel are trained to respond to emergency situationsInteract with other departments on issues involving security and safety functionsConduct training, Operational readiness exercises and ensure that security staff is well practiced and rehearsed in the execution of security operations, drills, assignments and the day- to-day functioning of security systemsAcquire, manage and maintain relationships with local law enforcement authorities, first responder agencies and key business support entities as it supports assigned facilitiesMaintain CSIS systems, staff and equipment in a state of perpetual readiness enough to meet or surpass requirements of both internal and/or external audits.Demonstrate basic knowledge of vendor and invoice managementHas the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.
Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
Acts as Subject Matter Expert to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.What we'll need from youSeasoned security officer experienceBachelor's degree/Associate's degree plus equivalent work experience/High School diploma plus equivalent work experienceExperience in adhering current security protocols, operations manuals and guidesProven ability to foster relationships and interface with external agencies to promote functional excellenceDemonstrated experience in making sound judgements at a moment's noticeHas maintained corporate assets, to include lease vehicles and equipment in a state of perpetual readiness enough to meet or surpass requirementsCan articulates basic understanding of security vulnerabilities and suggests preventative measures to assist in the mitigation of these potential risksExperience in working with security & safety technologyDemonstrated ability to follow security and safety instructions and procedures; reporting anything out of the ordinary to management and obey rules and regulations set out in delegations of duty, verbal instructions and company policiesRelevant experience in a private/public sector security environmentProfessional Security certificationsExperience working in a corporate or financial services security teamFlexibility to work on call off hours/weekendsEducation:Bachelors/University degree or equivalent experienceThis job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
