Job Description: Vehicle Technician
An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Vehicle Technician to join a busy and well-established minibus and coach dealership based in Co. Westmeath. The role involves hands-on diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance across a wide range of modern commercial and passenger vehicles sourced from European manufacturers. This is a great opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with ongoing technical development.
Job Responsibilities
* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across a range of commercial and passenger vehicles
* Conduct axle, driveline, and suspension system repairs
* Carry out routine maintenance and preventative servicing
* Complete pre-delivery inspections to ensure vehicles meet quality standards
* Troubleshoot electrical issues, including CAN network diagnostics
* Identify and resolve faults in HGV/PSV air systems
* Use diagnostic tools and manufacturer software systems effectively
* Maintain clear records of services, repairs, and inspections
* Adhere strictly to health, safety, and environmental regulations
* Collaborate with workshop colleagues and support apprentices or junior techs as needed
Job Requirements
* Proven experience as a Commercial Vehicle or Bus & Coach Technician
* Solid diagnostic and repair skills across mechanical and electrical systems
* Familiarity with HGV/PSV air braking systems and fault tracing
* Experience working with modern diagnostic equipment and tools
* Relevant motor vehicle qualification or equivalent hands-on experience
* High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
* Strong communication and time management skills
* Full clean driving licence
* D (PSV) licence is desirable but not essential
