The role
We're one of Ireland's biggest independent digital sports publishers, Balls.ie has been building audiences since 2010. We're growing across new platforms and formats, and we need more people to help us do it.
This is a paid, hybrid placement based 3 days a week out of our Dublin HQ. You'll be embedded in our editorial and commercial teams from day one, doing real work, building real skills, and leaving with a portfolio you're actually proud of.
What you’ll be doing — and learning
Content creation — Writing, editing, and packaging content across our platforms, and learning what makes it land with a sports audience
Search & discovery — Learning how platforms find and surface content, and putting that knowledge to work across our publishing output
Audience growth — Getting hands‑on with the channels and tactics that build loyal audiences, learning by doing, not by watching
Performance tracking — Learning to read content data properly, what the numbers actually mean and how to act on them
Branded content — Supporting commercial campaigns and getting a rare inside view of how media and brand partnerships actually work
New projects — We're always building something new. You'll get involved and you'll pick things up faster than you think
Who we’re looking for
A genuine love of sports and online media you consume it daily
Examples of your work, a blog, a newsletter, a social account, a college project, anything that shows how you think
Some feel for how content performs online, you don't need to be an expert, but you're curious about it
Strong writing instincts, you know a good headline when you see one
Self‑directed, you back yourself to figure things out
