Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Care Worker to join our team in delivering exceptional services to children and adults with intellectual disabilities and autism across Galway City and County.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting independence, dignity, and inclusion while ensuring the highest standards of care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide residential and respite care, supporting daily living, personal care, and household routines.
2. Act as a key worker, developing and implementing individualised care plans.
3. Support individuals with complex needs and behaviours using evidence-based approaches.
4. Administer and document medications in line with policy.
5. Foster meaningful relationships with service users, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
6. Facilitate community-based activities and promote social inclusion.
7. Maintain accurate records and contribute to service planning and development.
8. Provide guidance to care assistants and act as Person in Charge when required.
9. Work a flexible rota, including weekends, sleep-ins, and night shifts as needed.
10. Drive service vehicles or your own for work-related duties.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:
* A level 7 degree in Social Care or a related discipline.
* CORU registration (or in process).
* Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or in a similar care setting.
* A full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
* A motivated, empathetic, and person-centred approach.
