Expert Cost Manager
About the Role:
We seek a skilled cost manager to oversee our construction projects' financial aspects. As a key team member, you will be responsible for managing costs from initial estimates to final accounts.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare, negotiate, and analyze contracts, tenders, and subcontracts.
* Provide accurate cost forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting throughout project life cycles.
* Conduct risk and value management and cost control exercises.
* Evaluate and certify subcontractor payments and variations.
* Support procurement processes, including supplier and subcontractor selection.
* Advise on commercial and contractual matters to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
* Lead cost meetings and liaise with clients, contractors, and project teams.
* Mentor and support junior surveyors and contribute to team development.
* Assist with dispute resolution and claims management where necessary.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
* Professional membership (e.g., RICS, AIQS, or equivalent) preferred.
* Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
* Excellent understanding of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC).
* Proficient in cost management software and MS Office Suite.
