We now wish to recruit an
Instrumentation Engineer
to work on site supporting capital projects.
This individual will be working as part of a multidiscipline project engineering team on site and in the office.
Previous Instrumentation design and construction support experience in the Pharmaceutical/ Biotechnology industry is advantageous.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
The role of the Instrumentation Engineer within the EC&I department of PM Group will require the individual to undertake the following duties:
Feasibility, outline and detailed instrumentation and control design work including:
I/O Schedules
Alarm schedules
Cause and effect schedules
Instrument Index and data sheets
Hook up drawings
Loop Drawings
Control philosophy Development
User requirements specifications
System architecture design
Fieldbus Design
Instrumentation and Scope/Specification documents
Functional Design Specifications (reviews)
Instrumentation and Control cable schedules.
Routing and cabling containment designs.
DSD (Detailed System Design) Calcs
Generation of functional safety documentation and design substantiation
General engineering design.
Site visits and data collection.
Assisting with delivering design and general engineering projects.
Assisting with bids and proposal documents as required to support the EC&I Head of discipline or Bid Manager as appropriate.
Technical checking of the teams work.
Technical management of Instrumentation and system integration vendors and sub-contractors.
Provide project team leadership.
Ensuring project deliverables comply with appropriate design codes and legislation.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
Essential:
Control and instrumentation specification & design experience.
Fieldbus technology (Profibus DP and Modbus RTU) design knowledge.
Experience of reviewing vendor submittals and managing vendors/sub-contractors.
Design experience for ATEX classified areas
S88 experience
Functional safety specification and design experience.
Desirable:
Some experience of programming/configuration of PLC/DCS systems
Good practical knowledge and design experience of LV cabling design for industrial applications.
Proficient in the use of Autocad
Electrical Cals
Other Qualifications
You hold a bachelor's degree in Instrumentation engineering or similar engineering degree.
You must have proficiency in a windows based environment and software (Word, PowerPoint, project, advanced excel and access
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
Well motivated, able to work as part of a team or in isolation when required.
Ability to be flexible and to be able to multi-task and prioritize when necessary.
