Job Overview:
The Fabrication Specialist will participate in a Solas-approved apprenticeship program in welding, fabrication, or pipe fitting. This role involves acquiring technical skills in metalwork, pipe systems, and structural fabrication through on-the-job training and formal education.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in preparing, cutting, shaping, and joining metal components using welding and fabrication techniques.
* Support the installation, maintenance, and repair of piping systems according to engineering drawings and specifications.
* Operate welding equipment (e.g., MIG, TIG, Arc) and fabrication tools safely and effectively.
* Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and P&IDs.
Requirements:
* Minimum educational requirement: Junior Certificate or equivalent (Leaving Certificate preferred).
* Must meet any additional entry criteria set by the employer or training provider.
Desirable Skills:
* Technical Proficiency: Demonstrates an interest and ability to learn welding, fabrication, and pipe fitting techniques.
* Attention to Detail: Able to follow instructions, measurements, cutting, and assembling components.
