JOB PURPOSE:
Responsible for the full oversight of the company's Maintenance and Engineering functions.
To ensure quality through proactive monitoring and review of products, equipment, and process efficiencies, and to plan and implement improvements.
To manage capital projects and develop all aspects of the manufacturing operation to ensure growth and profit earning capacity as outlined in the budgets and strategic plan.
To research, develop, and introduce new products and processes at a site level to satisfy customer requirements.
To leverage support from the Pretium Group Engineering function on larger-scale complex projects.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Monitor and manage the site's facilities and processes to optimize throughput and efficiency, ensuring customer expectations for quality and delivery are met on time and in full.
2. Recruit, mentor, motivate, and manage a team of engineers and technicians to maximize plant performance, ensuring personal development, cross-training, and succession planning meet current and future business needs.
3. Monitor and performance manage resources to meet business requirements while controlling expenditure within the approved budget and providing early indications of variances.
4. Promote and drive continuous improvement across all business areas.
5. Review and adopt best practices and operational methods to maintain process efficiency and competitiveness.
6. Support the Management Team to ensure compliance with management systems and that these systems achieve business targets for quality, health and safety, environmental, social responsibility, sustainability, GMP, and food hygiene.
7. Plan and implement changes to maintain the integrity of the management system.
8. Foster strong relationships with key suppliers, contractors, and customers.
9. Develop and introduce new products and processes to meet customer requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Educational and Professional:
- Graduate in an engineering or related scientific discipline
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE
* Minimum 5 years management experience leading a facilities & technical department within a manufacturing organization.
* Knowledge of polymers and polymer processing is a plus.
* Minimum of 3 years managing technical capital projects.
* Minimum of 3 years managing new product/process development and introduction.
* Knowledge of labor, health and safety, and environmental legislation.
* Strong communication, briefing, and team-building skills.
